Default License Frame Light

Hi. I have a 2009 Carrera Cab.

The right light on the rear license plate isn't working. I've changed the bulb, but that didn't fix the problem. Plus the light bulb filament in the old bulb wasn't broken.

Does anyone have any ideas why the right light on my license frame light isn't working?

Is this something that most dealers would cover under warranty?

Thanks!

Although it is a pain in the butt, you may have to pull off the rear bumper to find the connector. Do a search for my bumper removal and use it as a guide. Although the connectors have locks on them to keep them from jiggling loose, they may have not seated it enough during installation.

Was there any corrosion on the contacts?

I haven't checked the fuses...I hope that it is that easy.

No rust or corrosion on the contacts either. I was hoping that this would be an easy fix. I might wait until my 40,000 major service to see if the dealer can do this under warranty.

My only concern is if the police would pull me over for this. The left light works so that illuminates the license plate so that it can be seen at night. I hope that is enough until I or the dealer can fix it.

Thanks. I appreciate the input.
