Default WTF - Have you seen this? Death of a 997.

What is he saying and why?

Looks like a form of art at the end.

Sounds to me like he's got the weight of the Russian world on his shoulders.
Must have just had one of those wifely discussions, and this is his answer to the question :

"Why do you need a new Porsche ?....your car looks just fine to me"

997.1 they didnt show the fact that before crushing it they mustve drained all the fluids or there would be a puddle of collant/oil/washer fluid/brake fuid/ tranny fluid/powersteering fluid

Looked like it was pretty tough to crush the passenger compartment from the front or rear!
Makes me feel safer with a cage and a harness at the track...

From another board

Under the title "Reine und gemischte Zustnde," Bechtold will be showing four work series at the KUB. The new sculpture ensemble "Elf Elf" (2006) on the KUB Plaza comprises eleven models of a current prototype of the Porsche 911 series covered with a protective cloth before casting - a detail that adds to the paradox of transforming a high-speed object into a concrete sculpture.

Exactly 35 years ago, Bechtold unveiled his first concrete Porsche at the Galerie Krinzinger in Bregenz, followed in 2001 by "Crash-Porsche." His current show is a monumental closure of the car theme and the idea of movement in his work. It includes the sculpture on the ground floor: the car that served as the model for casting the first concrete Porsche, compacted in a baling press..
