Altas is definitely an odd color. Its always a different color, and I agree it should almost be called blue. Much less conventional than Meteor gray, which is what initially I was looking for.

But seriously, the pictures above tell the tale. I really, really like my car's color and have had 911 owners compliment it as it's fairly unusual.

Think Atlas is more attractive than Meteor. The latter seems sort of dull in comparison to Atlas!

Best grey on Porsche was on a 1984T Flat-nose, Charcoal Grey. A special color taken from a VW chart at the time!

I prefer Atlas. Btw I don't think it's ever looked purple to me. It's either a deep navy, charcoal grey, or black at night.

Atlas even looks nice on BMWs. (actually called Dark Graphite II). I take my 997s in Meteor Grey.

Atlas is more like Blue-Gray... so if you like more bluish colors, go for it, if prefer the elegant grays like Aston martins, go for Meteor.

I had a 2007 C2s in atlas grey, and now a 2012 C2 in meteor grey. I prefer meteor...

You went from a C2S to a C2? Were you disappointed? I would find it hard to take a step back.

As far as I am aware the 997.2 C2 has only 10 Hp less than the 997.1S, so not that significant.

That is correct. The 2007 C2S had 355hp and the 2012 C2 has 345hp, so virtually indistinguishable difference in performance. And the new direct injection engine is more stable and efficient than the former.

For me, color makes a big difference in how I feel about my car, and I much prefer the look of my 2012 vs my 2007.

I agree. When I bought my first I cross-shopped the .1S against the .2 base as they are more akin power wise. The .2 wins in every other aspect such as reliability, entertainment, aftermarket support, MPG, lighting, etc.

The .2 Carrera is a step up to the .1S.
