This seems pretty low for a nicely optioned (sport seats, sport plus, pdk, nav, etc) 997.2:

Is it just me, or is that way below what they were going for even a few months back? 991 pressure, a one-off, or something else? Carmax is usually a harbinger of what's to come.

Yup, $56k sure seems low.
Ultimately you'll have to research the car and make sure everythings on the up and up!
Note: There were several past threads commenting on "bogus sites". Not sure if this is one.
Hopefully others will weigh in.

Carmax is not a bogus site. They're (I think) the largest national used car retailer, extremely legit.
I'm not in the market right now, but I like to keep an eye on things, and this definitely caught my eye.

I had considered Carmax originally but discovered that they will not allow a PPI until after you purchased the car. And if the vehicle requires relocation from another state you will have to pay the transport fees for an open carrier(not ideal) to your Carmax location, buy it, then you get to do a PPI. Of course, they allow you to return it after 7 days if you find anything wrong but by then it was an expense and PITA to figure out that the car is not up to snuff.
I watched several of their 997's over a period of 2-3 months while looking for my car and observed that their cars would move from city to city. Go off market for 2-3 wks then back on the carmax list again... Figure some poor customer probably paid for the transport, bought it upfront, did the PPI, then returned it. This would happen time and time again over several months.
Beware... Carmax can be the dumping grounds for unwanted vehicles. I know cause I dumped my old M3 there. It had a few issues... none of which were insignificant.

That's a deal worth looking into for sure.
Even with a $3000 warranty, your still sub 60K. I suppose you could run get a post PPI and do the 5 day return if it has something major wrong with it. (read their fine print though)
CPO car in its history, so you would think anything that it needed it got.

If the car has had the proper maintenance wouldn't the original Porsche warranty still be in force? Provided the warranty hasn't timed out.

I was certainly not suggesting anyone run out and buy this particular car. I just thought it was interesting that Carmax, which is usually on the cutting edge of car prices, had a nicely equipped 997.2 that low. For people thinking of buying a 997.2 in the future, I'm betting this means you can now set 60K as a price point and wait for the right thing at that number (maybe a bit higher if you want CPO). If they're not there yet, if Carmax is pricing them this way, they will be in 6 months.

I have seen several 09 C2's in this range with those miles. Intersport in VA has 2 similar cars with more miles for around the same $. This is where the market these days is on ~40k miles 09 base C2's with no CPO

Base 6spds with CPO are at the $60k mark with those miles from my earlier searches.
