Default Looking for some simple engine mods

Hitting the ole forty duece on the 30th and treating myself to some Engine Mods on my 997.2!
I've been putting a lot of time, money and attention to my Targa the past year and now getting the bug back for my C2S! It's been sitting on trickle chage in the vacation home all winter and it's time I do the swap!
I am impressed w/ the look and info / video posted about this Fabspeed intake on the site, but what your opinions / comparisons. What else do you recommend for a simple mod that will not void my warranty and break the bank. The intake I will install myself. I was thinking about the ECU, but will it affect the warranty?

While I love the look of that intake, I think I would choose to just replace the air filter in the stock unit and drive off. If you want more sound, just block off the intake muffler.

BMC air filters, Center muffler bypass, like sharkwerks, and ECU software like evoms, like $2300 to 2500 for all.

I was looking for the same thing and decided on the IPD Plenum to start with while my car is still under warranty and CPO. Here's the DIY write-up: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...pd-plenum.html

Keep in mind that Porsche doesn't leave much low hanging fruit.

The video on the site, explains the difference between the stock unit and this one. It states that it falls short in the middle, whereas the fabspeed unit is designed to ram the air in much more efficiently. That is why the Y shape was designed in the middle. I do also love the way it looks, which is worth something as well.

You cannot "ram" air unless you have something to ram it with. (IE a turbo)
I'm sorry; I think it is all snake oil. (Albeit gorgeous snake oil)

I am using "ram" in a simple way, even if you hook up a duct to the front of a car and direct it into the airbox, it's can be called a ram air system. I hear ya though an sure there is a little oil in there, but does also look and seem more efficient that the stock setup, even w/ aftermarket filters. I'm going for it!

The Fabspeed looks really nice... I'm in talks with Alex to bring a dual filter set up for us with a 997.1 model. It will also have a full enclosure and two snorkels.

I think that a dual filter system could means more air into the plenum...

Looks like you'll have to cut the deck lid on the right. So be it.

You mean for the 997.1?? I don't see anything necessary for the .2.
