Finally - a chance to drive 991 on a track.
I have a year in my GTS and I've spent 48 hours with a loaner 991S. I've done several DE's, TT's, PDS's and autocrosses in the GTS, but my 2 days in the 991S was limited to street driving. I did manage some "brisk" runs in a local canyon road with the 991S, but nothing approaching a track experience.
Today I received an invitation from Porsche to an intro event at the Fontana Speedway for the new 991, Cayenne and Panamera. In two weeks I'll have a chance to actually drive the 991 on the track, which should prove informative. These events are always "ducks in a row" behind a PSDS instructor, but the instructors can occasionally be persuaded to "pick up the pace" just a little if they know you. I'll certainly try.
There are certainly a few turns at the Fontana track where I'll be able to compare the amount of understeer in my GTS to the new car. It should be fun.

Man the dealers in Montreal don't invite anyone to these events unless you've bought 5 cars from them in 2 years...
Good luck, have fun and try to get pictures for us poor souls ; )
