Default 33K Maintenance

Still some time away but my readout says my maintenance is coming up at 33,000 miles. Can someone tell me what is entailed and how much the dealer should charge.

While we are at it, can anyone recommend a decent independent shop in South Florida with good Porshce rep? Kinda tired of getting jacked up at the dealer.

That is a bit of an oddball mileage. Hard to say whether this is a major or minor service. It could just be an oil change. The best way to figure it out is to get a look at the records and determine what was done last time. Then check your owner's manual for what is due this time around. If it was serviced at a Porsche dealer, they will have the records.

Car doesn't need sparkplugs at 36K miles. I love Suncoast but that kit idea is all about selling you stuff.

Suncoast is probably going by what Porsche recommends and generally Porsche recommends a plug change at X number of miles or after Y years.

In some cases Porsche issues a TSB which extends the mileage or the time or can even eliminate the replacement on time entirely.

To the OP: Best to check with a Porsche dealership, supplying the car's VIN, to see what the updated/current service intervals are for the various serviceable items.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Excellent question - mine is sitting at just over 32K miles 51K Kms. When / or if do I need to charge the spark plugs? It's running great!

It is all in your owners manual. It should say 4 years or 60K miles. Though many (including me) would argue that time should not be a requirement for spark plugs since they wear from use, not from time. My car is 7 years old and I am just about to replace them now as I am at 59,xxx miles.

If you want to go by the book, then clearly you need to read the book that came with your car. Porsche seems to be changing the recommended maintenance intervals with quite some regularity, all depending on what year the car was manufactured. Why is this? Well I'm pretty sure it is not because the engine changes its needs on a regular basis. Porsche is pretty random with this maintenance interval stuff. Oil change intervals over the course of a decade went from 15K to 20K to 15K and now apparently down to 10K.
