Default advice on timing

Hello! I am new to this board but I had a 2001 996 C2 Cab that was recently totaled so I am thinking about upgrading to a 2005-6 997 Cab. I was thinking that the prices of these should drop in a few months as the 991's start to enter the market. Anyone on these boards disagree with that?

Simple answer.........all used car prices will drop over time.
How much additional annual depreciation do you expect a 7-8 year old Porsche to take in the coming months? It's not a big amount. It's not like the depreciation on 2010, 11, or 12 models. You're not going to save huge sums of money waiting for these older models to further depreciate. Find one you like, buy it and enjoy it!
