997.631.163.22 - L, 997.631.164.23 - R - 997.1 (non halogen)

997.631.157.23 - L, 997.631.158.23 - R - 997.2

Reason for asking is the headlight surrounds are the same for both?

Yes. I have swapped .1 for .2 --the only change occurred with the additional option of steerable headlights on the 997.2.

Although this post is VERY old, I will try my luck and ask you: Why did you want to know?
Same reason than me? I would like to know if the headlights lens cover for 997.1 and 997.2 are identical. Almost sure they are, but it would be nice to have 100% confidence.
Mine are yellowish and foggy and I intent to replace them with a pair of lenses from China (aliexpress).
Any hints, tips, DIY manuals are highly appreciated

they are the same lenses for 997.1 and 997.2 no matter what version of the lamps you have (halogen, xenon etc)
