Alright ladies and gentlemen, today's Part is a small black box found up against the outside wall in the passenger side footwell of a 2006 Carrera S with BOSE and PSE.
Take a look at the 3 pictures I've attached and tell me...
What's!

Actually, this looks like one of the control modules that's normally mounted underneath the glove box, behind a foamed-plastic panel, but that has been loosened and allowed to fall down. A peek under my dash and a tug on the panel shows something that looks similar on my '07, but I'm not sure what it is. My guess would be something related to the radio.

Unknown. I didn't take these pics. They were sent to me by the dealer. I've got a PPI scheduled for tomorrow morning so I'll let you know the whole story tomorrow...

If it's what I think it is, a BIG bump would have to remove some screws and take off a panel to get it dangling like that. Make sure to have the guy that does the PPI take a close look at that box (and maybe send pics of the box and under the dash?). I'm starting to get really curious about what that thing is and how it got there. What kind of aftermarket gadget would require a hideous black box mounted right there?

i have bose and pse and have no such box, also no oem in their right mind would place a box so close to the passenger foot area. This is clearly aftermarket, such as an alarm, tracking system, datalogger or audio interface..
