Default headlight rings

has anyone painted their headlight edges to match, thereby just making the lights a bit smaller and rounder? thought i saw this done somewhere...reminiscent of the 996, but not really

You can buy carbon fibre stick on rings. Might look okay on a black car. I've not seen them to get a feel for how well made they are and whether they are real or a sticker. There are various ones for sale on eBay but prices vary:

Low end $180:

High end $315:

Alternatively buy fibreglass ones and spray them body colour:

Since we're on the subject, I noticed that some 997s have their headlight rings eroding from UV (I assume) or very harsh chemicals. They look crazed. Got no idea how to deal with it unless you sand and paint...

Here are a few pix of Rottec's Dry CF headlight rings on a red 997S. Another alternative would be to use Vinyl strips. KI Studio is coming out with a vinyl kit soon, I believe.
