Default NYC/CT/MA- summer tires yet?

Is anyone cutting over to summer tires yet in the NYC/CT/MA area? I'm starting to feel like winter is over.

Not yet. It's not so much the snow but the temperatures are still too cold (20's this morning) for summer tires. By early April I'll make the switch.

Does seem as if winter is over but as other's have said with lower temperatures and the unpredictability of the weather I'm sticking to my usual first week in April switchover.

Temps are still far too cold for summer tires.
Why risk it?

I learned my lesson years ago. Never switch from snows until the mother-in-law's birthday. (15 May).

I'm running Pilot sports on my car and have been driving it occasionally all winter (not in snow). Is that a problem? I didn't know they were specified for summer only.

The big problem is grip.
It is truly scary entering a turn with summer tires in the cold weather.
All you need is one time experiencing that and it's enough.

Now CAN you drive on summer tires all year?
Of course, and being careful you SHOULD be fine.
But... is it worth it? What if you have to do an emergency stop?

michelins were horrible when temp was below 30 deg, with z1 star specs i had no grip issues even with temp in lower 20s.

I have been running MPSS all winter. Only driven when temps above 40 (for the most part) so no need to swap. Winter has been so mild.
