V1 Hardwire HELP
I tried to hardwire my V1 this evening through my fuse box, I could not get it to work for the life of me!
I grounded the (-) on the screw by the throttle (there was DIY in which the author chose his - grounding)
I fuse tapped the (+) via C5 (tip, which I dont use since mine is a 6-speed)
I also tried fuse tapping C1, A1, C3 and C4, nothing worked.
I plugged the V1 in the cigarette outlet, and everything worked fine, so i know it not the unit itself.
PLEASE HELP!!!

You probably have already none this, but..... I believe that the C5 and C1 positions in the fuse box are switched locations, meaning that they are "hot" only when the ignition is switched on. Did you test it with the ignition on?

I used position C1 in my '09 997.2 S. According to the reference chart it is the fuse for the "all wheel drive control unit (997 turbo only)" and is a switched circuit which is what I wanted because I didn't want to have to remember to turn the V1 on and off all the time.
If you have one, use a multi-meter to test whether you are getting voltage to a particular fuse slot and whether it is powered all the time or only when the ignition is on. As Tim also noted, C1 is switched and it worked for me.
I'm not crazy about your ground location. For one thing, since it appears you already have the carpet piece surrounding the fuse panel off, there are locations behind it and next to the fuse box that are better than running a visible wire to the accelerator mounting. Again, if you have a multi-meter, use it to see if that is actually a good ground.
Finally, I assume you're using the wiring kit that came with the V1. The hot lead in the kit has an inline fuse, IIRC. Is that fuse in place?
Good luck.

When you hardwire to the fuse box the V1 will turn on when the ignition switch is turned on. If it is switched on and it is still not working then I would check for a blown fuse.
Do you have a test light? if you do try check and see if the ground is good.
Here is a pic that I found that will shows the location where I grounded the wire. (This pic was taken by Coochas. He started a thread called Another Radar Detector Hardwire Escort 9500 smartcord.) He has more pics on that thread.

BTW, the fuse tap is directional and if it deos not work initially, remove it, rotate it 180 degrees, then reinstall it. The entire install process was 35 minutes.

Also looking closer at your picture I think you have your fuse tap upside down. It looks like you might want to rotate it. In Row C the power feed is towards the bottom so do orient the "add a fuse" power spade appropriately.
