Battery powetred IMPACT wrench
Well, the older I get the more I find that I try to make things easier, now rather than "wrench" my back I'm looking for a battery powered Impact Wrench, any suggestions...
I'm not looking for a professional heavy duty one, something mid range AMERICAN MADE if possible

I am using a Makita 18V lith ion cordless impact for whenever i loosen lug nuts and other suspension stuff. it is a saviour. I believe if you want American, Dewalt makes one but you may have to get the battery seperate.

Sigh.. EVen "American Made" can just mean assembled in USA with parts from all over. Life in the global economy. I have a Bosch and love it..
Keep in mind that TOO MUCH Torque can be a bad thing.. See below:

i have 24v model and prefer it to any 18v model. you need to look for max torque you can buy.
just remember when you`ll start using it - ALWAYS put in lugs by hand and make sure it goes into tread properly. donot put it into wrench and screw it in - with 300lb/ft torque wrench you will damage tread badly and it will take a lot of time/effort to fix it.

The Snap-On impact is nice.
Nice and expensive! They cost about $500.00. Don't think that's what the OP has in mind.
Also don't know about finding one made in the USA. Maybe the Milwaukee? Dewalt?

I ordered this one from Amazon.com. Great price. Works great. Came with extra battery and case/holder. Great for wheel swapouts and changes.
+1 on hand tighening the lugs initially. Almost ruined a set of threads on my Z4M on one wheel bolt using this and getting lazy and not doing that 1st. Luckily I have a torque wrench and patience and was able to get the lug properly seated and threaded after about 15 mins and some help from my local tire shop. Otherwise one of my best automotive purchases for 2011!

Milwaukee are nice units. I got $100 something from amazon when they were on sale and it works fine. no need for $500+ units.
