Default Start Problem

Went to start my 2011 Carerra S today and it wouldn't start. No solenoid click or starter noise. Error message said depress the clutch, which it was, so I'm guessing a sensor problem. Interesting thing is I turned the headlights on and the starter engaged. Duplicated the same problem later on and sure enough the starter engaged when I turned the lights on. Maybe it's a coincidence.

I'll take it to the dealer but any thoughts would be appreciated.

I went on deployment with the navy last year for 9 months and didnt drive my 06 S. When I came back, It will intermitently not start, I think I could hear the solenoid move in the starter but wont crank. After replacing the battery, and cleaning all the major grounding points, NO-Joy. Finally replaced the starter, and SURE enough, that was the culprit. Started 100% since then.
