Default adding bluetooth/ipod to 997.2 bose

I know about the 3rd party 997.1 solutions but does anyone know if the universal audio/bluetooth option can be added to a 997.2 ordered without those? The car has bose and sirius but no nav

thanks

I added OEM BT after the fact. Already had UAI though. You might want to call another dealer to confirm.

I was looking at a car w/o universal audio and dealer quoted $800 for the retrofit. As I did not follow-up, I can't say whether the dealer was straight. dave

When I bought my '09 last year, I had the BT added by the selling dealer, and it was no problem. It does not have voice control, although the phone functions can be easily controlled through the PCM screen.

I recently inquired about the UAI and was told by my servicing dealer that there is no good solution, and that what they can add does not work near as well as the factory option. They recommended that I not do it.

I imagine the after-the-fact UAI may well be the FM modulated solution rather than direct wire solution - at least at the dealer per the directions they have to follow.

Adding BT, I would think, would be easy... because 1) I think the basic BT transceivers appear to be there in all the cars, and buying the BT phone option just lets that BT hardware then work with the phone interface in the car. (I'd read many posts form folks discovering they had bt transceivers and wondered why they couldn't do anything with them.. they had not purchased a phone option)

Now adding the Phone part of that equation.. that is hard.. because its specific mikes installed in special panels that interface with the phone module in the PCM.
