High Oil Pressure / oil level

Hey all,
I just picked up my first 911, an 07 C2S!
Bought it from a non porsche dealer where it had been serviced prior to me picking it up.
Last night I drove it home in the rain, no issues, all readings normal.
Today I started it up and the oil pressure went right to the top. It pretty much stayed there for my 10 min drive. It started to come down once the oil temp came off the bottom peg, but with any revs at all it went back up.
Well, I got nervous thinking about the RMS so I went home, let it sit for a few, and did the oil level check a few times. It's full. But what I don't know is if it's off scale high? The bars go above the top hash line so it shows the whole display in grey.
No warning lights or anything of that sort.
Any thoughts? The manual doesn't say much. Don't want to overpressurize the system and do damage.
Thanks in advance!

Normal behavior. As the oil gets warmer, it gets thinner thereby reducing pressure. I had the exact same concerns when I got mine. Now I just make sure that once everything is at operating temp, 200 degrees, that the idle pressure is around 1.5 PSI.

What you are seeing is normal. Many will say that 1 bar of oil pressure per 1000 RPMs is a good indicator.
I think Hella-Buggin means 1.5 bar not psi.

I'll toss in the obligatory statement that an oil fill should not fill up the system so that all the indicators are full to the very top (the last small one above the full line should not be illuminated). In fact, its probably generally better to even have the top mark under 'full' be off too.

FYI - The owner's manual has the following:
"The difference between the minimum & maximum marks on the segment display is ~ 1.2 liters.
Each segment on the display corresponds to ~ 0.4 liter."
There are 3 bars between the arrows.
1 quart = to 0.946 liters
As you can see being one under the top bar is not much oil. Better to be safe than overfilled.

I'll also chime in that this is perfectly normal. The oil pump is driven off the crankshaft and will pump more oil as rpms rise, thus raising the oil pressure. Oil viscosity decreases with temperature (it flows more easily), so the pressure will naturally fall as the temperature rises.
For myself, I try to keep the revs down (<4000 rpm) until the oil rises to around 200F. After that, I "indulge myself".

+1 Freaked me out the first time as well, until I realized this is perfectly normal and once warmed up should run between 1.5-2. Once the oil is at operating temp, then the revs need to hit 3.5K or higher to peg the oil pressure gauge at 5. It also surprised me how much longer the oil takes to get up to operating temperature than the coolant.

You want your oil pressure to be high, low oil pressure results in catastrophic problems. However, your oil level should within high and low marks, too much oil is just as bad as not enough.
