James,
You know very well that you are completely, absolutely fooling yourself.
In fact, I truly believe that you would welcome a 991 just so you could do more DIY's, post more 'How To' guides on RL and spend more of your time screwing around removing and reinstalling all sorts of parts.
C'mon, ADMIT IT!!!

Too funny Luke... I had overlooked the opportunity to put some more hours towards a DIY write-up or two. Thank you for pointing out the silver lining. Your glass half full approach is well warranted. Who knows... in ten years every car may be required to have an electrical outlet and these 991's may be the last of the "purely gas operated" 911's. OK, count me in. Only time will tell...

Even if you can do the oil change yourself, the computer that monitors the service schedule can only be reset by the dealer as far as I know.

Hmmm... so the durametric tool doesn't support the 991?

Hate to be a spoiler, but changing the oil & filter on my 991.1 is easier and less messy than any car I've ever owned, including:
1984 VW GTI
2000 Ford Taurus SHO
1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo
2002 Toyota Tundra
2000 Porsche 911 C4

You don't even have to bend over. I can get the filter out and a new one in, without spilling a drop of oil in LESS than 4 minutes.
