Buying A 997.2 2009 C2S or 2010 C4S Today; Updated With Result

Plus you owned a 997.1 C2S and so your comparison to your 997.2 C4S is not entirely apples to apples

My first thought is, can you wait 6 months? I think we will see a decent depreciation curve coming. In about 6 months, the 991 will be on all the dealer floors, and we will be several more KBB's down the road.
The Gen 2 cars are still getting premiums.
Having had a 997.1 S, and currently have 997.1 4s, the only thing I "want for" is the PDK. The PDK is a significant and time tested system/upgrade. I wish my car had it. Right now, the delta is just too high for me to make the jump to a Gen 2.
Between the 2 cars, I like the 2S feel more than the 4S. But cold for us is having to wear a sweater. The security of the 4S could easily be the keystone to your choice, plus the Sport Exhaust is sweet.
Neither is a bad choice (as said earlier) and the back end difference if they were both Rear Badge Delete is undetectable. Some colors show the hips more and others a bit less.

I would get the C2S for the drive/feel and use the $20K saved to buy a 4x4 4Runner(used). Best of both worlds... 2wd 911 for pure fun in the sun and 4x4 SUV for those heavy snow days. You'll need the ground clearance anyway.

Thanks for all the opinions and advice. Both vehicles are black on black which was a must for me.
The C2S had a lien on it and it was more difficult to get everything setup than I initially thought. I would have had to stay up to 5 days in Texas for wire to clear and my bank advised me against wiring money ahead of time to a US credit union. I was trying to justify not spending the extra money and I also felt guilty as I have been communicating with the private seller for 2 months. We were waiting for the title from Porsche Financial and then from the state of Texas after he paid taxes on it. I did disclose I would continue looking and was only days away from booking a flight but the weather became a factor as I would be driving it back.
The hassle became too much so I thought I was check cars.com one more time. The C4S had just been listed and was about $5000 over budget, but it had every option I would have ordered myself, only things missing were SPASM and crests on headrests, and sport design wheel (which was remedied).
So.... I put a deposit on the C4S .
Dealer would not move on price at all, in the end got it for $500 off list at about 30,000 off MSRP.
Vehicle was gone over with a paint meter and no paint or bodywork. Called service on the advice of fellow rennlisters and the service guy was very helpful. Two services performed, brake flush, wheels switched to turbo II's from turbo I's, fuel pump recall, battery replaced and MAF replaced under warranty. Salesman did a walk around while I was on the phone and discovered the car had a full front clear bra. Only issues are a wheel scuff which they are taking care of and I need them to remove the tint from the front windows to make it legal here.
I'm also having them do my first mod, they're installing a sport design steering wheel at a reasonable price.

Thanks guys. It's odd, right when I saw it I knew it was the one. The car was only on the market for a couple days and didn't want to risk losing it. I've been looking for 6 months and every car was missing something, was the wrong color or just gave me a bad vibe. If the S had worked out I would have been settling as a C4S was my original choice. It's still surreal that I bought it.
I will definitely post pics when I take delivery. It should be getting the sport design steering wheel installed today and they're expected the sports look footrest to be delivered tomorrow. Car is in Texas and I'm in Vancouver, so hopefully next week I'll be taking delivery.

Send me a PM, we should get Vancouverite 911 owners together!
