Default New to me 997

Just wanted to share some pictures of my 'new to me' 2007 CPO 997S.

I have previously owned an 03 996 turbo and an 09 Cayman S.

I had planned on my next step being a 997 Turbo.

I saw this car listed for sale, and had no plans for Saturday, so my wife and I took a road trip to take a look. I figured the power and sound would be better, but very comparable to the Cayman. (which is why I was leaning turbo)

My initial observation of the car revealed it to be in excellent physical condition. The test drive wowed me!! I'm not a big 0-60 or 1/4 mile numbers guy, as those numbers have become so skewed by launch control. I really care more about how fast the car FEELS to me. I was stunned by the power I felt in this car. It may not be reality, but the car FEELS so much faster than my Cayman S, closer to my old Turbo than the Cayman. I loved it! Something else completely unexpected was the sound. The engine has this beautiful, rumbling roar! Unbelievable! Again, much better than either my cayman or turbo. Also feels very tight and solid, just like my Cayman.

Took a few minutes to convince my wife, but I had to have it. I love this car!

Car is pretty bare bones, but is just going to be driven for pleasure. Does have the sport chrono, which I really wanted. Black Interior with manual transmission. I think I'm going to get and install the Universal Audio Interface system, followed by the LED rear lights. Otherwise, I'm perfectly satisfied.

Glad to be here with you fine people!

Kevin

Classic and timeless color combo on an unmolested 997. Very well done ! Good luck with your new PCar.

Kevin,

You've made a great choice! I'm relatively new to Porsche, but I feel the 997 is all around the best car I've ever owned.

Good Luck with it.

McCulla,

Didn't know if I was supposed to post that information on the forum or not. I sent you a PM with the info, though.

Congratulations! Got a non-S over the weekend somewhat impulsively too. Took it home for a test drive to show my wife who was initially very cold on the idea. Talked more and got the ok! Enjoy!
