Can a 997.2 chrono clock be replaced with a 991 chrono clock?

Can the wart be removed, and a cover put on the hole?

Some, mainly because I don't use it. Just got the car, and don't see a good use if not tracking, which I won't be doing.

And if you were tracking it, I doubt you'd see a good use for it either. Just can't imagine flicking the lever every time I passed start/finish. That's what Harry's Lap Timer and other apps are for.

Ha! Very true I always wondered how it would work in an actual race situation. I feel it would be quite cumbersome during racing when adrenaline is running high!!

The main reason I looked for a car with it is what the Sport Chrono functionality does for the PDK shift patterns. Much rather have a flat surface.

Never mind. I thought it was something other than the timer.

Seriously that question of wheter the 991 timer closk would work is a very attractive idea to me. Will look original yet have a function. Maybe we just need to add an constant pos signal for the clock...can we explore this some more? Any scematics for the 991 wart vs the 997.2 wart
