looking at a 2010 C4S
have experience with 996TT, and 964RSA. Was looking to get another 996TT or 997TT. Drove the C4S for a short test run and was impressed. Looking for input from those who have experience with TT vs C4S or C2 vs C4S
TIA

TT is faster...just saying.
The steering on the AWD cars like the TT and C4 feels different than a C2 car. How are you going the use the car? Lots of track time....get a GT3 based car....want a fast street car get a TT.

My BOD and wife have banned me from the track
http://www.spokesman.com/video/2010/...ace-car-crash/
I will use the car as a DD
put on about 25k miles a year
plan for two sets of wheels/tires - summer, winter
many trips through the mountains with snow or rain, one reason to consider TT or C4 variant
plus I like the big butt look
car has sport chrono plus PASM
I love the power of the TT, but his combo seemed pretty good
don't want to regret not getting a TT in 6 mos

I've driven my 03 Turbo up as high as nearly 9K feet going over I-80 into Utah and then up into Wyoming. Also, I have driven across I-40 more times than I can remember with the max altitude (7700+ feet) on that drive just west of Flagstaff and my car is unaffected by the altitude.
Check that: It does have a bit more of a 'cammy' feel to it as the boost comes on/up but I can live with that. What I can't live with is the loss of power NA engines have at the same altitude.
No matter the altitude there's plenty of power for passing and such.
Buy the Turbo.
Sincerely,
Macster.

No dishonor in a C4S. Particularly with a Powerkit, if you can find one. It gives up 100 hp vs its current TT comparable, but compared to an earlier turbo, it might be adequate to your needs.

I went from a 997.2 C2S to a 997.2 C4S. Both cabs, for my DD. I really like the C4S more. Widebody, lots of grip. Looking forward to a snow day with winter tires now on.

But is it there.
I've driven other NA cars over the same routes at the same elevations and one doesn't really notice the power drop until he steps on the gas and the car responds like it is rolling through molasses.
My first encounter with this was in my 96 Mustang GT on I-70 in Colorado and pulled out to pass going through/over one of the higher passes (IIRC around 11K feet) and I thought the engine had quit the response to throttle was so lethargic.
Another time in my Boxster in Colorado Springs I pulled onto the freeway and accelerated up to speed. Well, I tried to accelerate up to speed but while I was waiting for the speed to come I was passed by a Saab (turbo-charged) that had entered the freeway following my car, like my car was standing still.
Sincerely,
Macster.

Have decided to go the 997TT route
If anyone is looking for a 2010 C4S, there is one at Barrier Porsche in Bellevue with approx 220 miles (not a misprint), which will have 6 years of warranty
stick, and fairly well optioned

I think 997TT is a great choice. I would try to find a low milage 09 - last of the Mezger engine, a few upgrades over 07-08, still under warranty, bargain compared to getting a new one. Love mine!
And just wow! Glad you survived that very scary crash!
