Exhaust question
Are the mufflers on the Carrera and Carrera S the same, aside from the exhaust pipes?
The exhaust sound on our "new" 06 S seems a bit on the loud side, then again the last P car was an 00 Base Boxster, berore that was an 02 Boxster S (sold because someone made a really good offer, both of those sounded the same)
My experiences before the Boxsters was all in air cooled 911's (a completely different car)
This 06 seems to have a rasp especially when I first start it...
I miss the sound of the air cooled Porsches, (and the spare tire!)

No... The S has larger outlet pipe. Stock exhaust on these cars is quiet and not really great sounding.
The start up rasp is the air pump on and different timing to heat up the cats quickly for emissions.
