Any comment from those with broken springs? can we see some pics? how did they break? Do they look like they broke like a leaf spring or more like they were twisted off like a piece of taffy? what color is the metal? was the car sitting from some time allowing for the spring fingers to corrode in place? was the car launched quite often allowing for a lot of heat to build up on the clutch assembly? (this question may not be conclusively answered if you have a teenageer that drives the car).

Turned out to be a cracked disc resulting in uneven fingers. So when releasing the clutch about 75% of them hit the clutch initially which was causing the juddering. Sachs quality?

I had the same failure back in September. $3500 later I was back on the road with new clutch an flywheel. Also had plugs changed at the same time.

Aren't the GT3 RS 3.8 people having some issues with clutches and pressure plates? I believe some of them are now upgrading to 4.0 parts.

Wasn't expecting that... I thought you'd have a missing finger or something. Does it look like it failed due to faulty manufacturing? I think these spring plates are stamped from one sheet of steel so it's not like there's a resistance weld there or something... or is there?

It's not badly worn so it kind of looks like manufacturing but who knows.
Not sure how common this is but the mechanic had seen one similar not too long ago.
