Bosch may make OEM but make sure the passenger side has a significant curvature to it or it won't lay flat. I compared OEM to aftermarket and couldn't find a passenger side with that bend. I use aftermarket on my other cars but OEM on the Porsche.

OEM is cheap enough, no reason to change brands.

The link you provided is for the blades only; I would just get the Bosch OEM blade/arm set from Pelican that look and perform just like the OE on my 2008 for not much more money.

I've had great success with Silblades. The wiper blade is silicon and lasts much longer. They have a 5 year warranty on them. I use them on the C2S cab, Cayenne and Range Rover. They are particularly good in the winter with snow.

And the compatibility chart in the Amazon link doesn't even show that it will fit 997 - hope you didn't buy yet.

Goodyear at Costco for $8, work fine! Used to use only Bosch micro edge.

"sickness" defined: I have actually owned cars whose wiper blades were NEVER used. Obsessive use of RainX. After several years, the wiper blades literally fall apart.

To address your question...use RainX religiously, don't use the wipers, and buy the cheapest blades, or none at all.

I've been using these Bosch blades for two years now. Moved them from my Boxster to my 997 when the Boxster was traded since they were expensive blades and work extremely well in all weather conditions (rain and snow).

However, I have found that I needed to buy a 20 inch blade for the passenger side and not use the 22" blade that is recommended in Bosch's catalog. These blades sit on the arms and windshield differently than the OEM blades. So, the 22" blade size on the passenger side slaps against the plastic cowling when the wipers are operating. The 20" size is short enough to not contact the cowling, but still plenty long enough to clear the windscreen effectively.

I have Silblades on my 4Runner, and they're great. I just noticed this morning that my 911 could use blades too, so I'm going to look into trying the Silblades on it as well.

I use Rain-X or Bosch blades. Ever since I had an incident of a Porsche blade failing and having the metal contact the glass (and scratch it) I will use ONLY full composite blades.

Tried the Rain-X but the 22" is too long for the passenger side, well its not thats its too long, its that its straight and the end hits the cowl edge of the frunk.

The original blade has a curve to it that keeps it from hitting the edge

Do you use the "Silblades" or the "UniBlade" version and do you have the problem on the passenger side with it being too long?

I'm thinking those Uniblades might be nice, but not sure if they will have that length problem.
