Default Grinding noise

Im hearing a grinding noise when braking. The outer pads have plenty of meat on them and the rotors look good. What gives? Could it be the inner pads that i cant see? I have 13k on the ODO. tks

Are you a long time Porsche driver? If not, you need to be harder on the brakes. Brake LATER, and HARDER. See what happens. The problem should disappear. Sometimes it's the build up of a blaze on the surface of the rotors from soft braking, and sometimes it's when a piece of rock gets flipped up and lodged between a pad and rotor.

well thats the thing. I would expect squeaking and not grinding w/ soft brake use but i was at a DE about a month ago and used them pretty hard.

Possible rock stuck in there. If you have easily pull the wheels do so and then hand-turn each hub to isolate which one(s) are noisy. Then explore a bit more. You can pick it out with something like a horseshoe pick or a screwdriver.

Happens every time I wash my car. Rust on the rotors. Also happens from glaze if I don't brake heavily for a while. The rear brakes are the most prone to this. It is normal. Brake hard and it goes away.

identify what side does it, jack up car, take out pads, inspect them, if they have nothing stuck - swap them around, then get on a highway, do 3-4 hard enough stops from 90 to 40 mph, it should go away after that.
if not - inspect if calipers shifted from their proper axis.
