Default Anyone perform gundo(gonzo) hack on 997.2?

I am contemplating the cellebrated Gundo Hack as a less expensive alternative to PSE. I would purchase a set of used stock pipes for the purpose so that I can put the originals back on if desireable to do so. I have read of many good results with 997.1 cars but am unsure if this has been done or is as effective on 997.2 cars. Does anyone have experience with this? (The car has sharkwerks center bypass pipes installed)

Thanks, John

I did, on my '09 Carrera S. Combined with AWE crossover pipes to eliminate the center muffler, the sound is just what I was looking for; at a price (the R&R and hack cost me $200 at a custom exhaust shop) that doesn't break the bank. However, your gas mileage will suffer 'cause you'll love winding the car out so much!!

JLHendrix, I put Sharkwerks in the center position and dealer-installed PSE for the side mufflers... so I have the stock mufflers (all three!) available for sale if you are interested. My sound is great, by the way.

That exhaust combination is great, isn't it?

Do you have the sock center muffler or some version of bypass pipes?

I have it on my 997.2 C2 - the cans were modified by Darin Fister. It's AWESOME. No drone, quiet enough in my neighborhood, but really fun over 3k rpm and at WOT. Only downside is that my MPG has dropped - something to do with my aural-right foot synapses which have become inextricably linked.

You also can check out the Youtube videos (search for Gundo or Fister) to get some idea, but a better way is to stop by your dealer and ask if they have a car with PSE. I was going to buy PSE and my dealer took me for a spin in a same model year car which had PSE. Although it was good and the switch is a nice feature, I couldn't bring myself to drop $4k on it when a Gundo can be had for a fraction of that.

I know StefanG has done the hack, because I sold him my old cans when I did the Tubi. 2009S
Shipped them direct to Fister for him.
