still playing the odds on this and lucky so far. I keep my font plate under the passenger seat and a ready excuse/story for the cop. So far they haven't noticed. Just want to avoid a work order that would force me to install it. After 6 tickets. however, I would likely give up and install the dang thing.

The tow hook option that I have seen looks odd to me, because the plate is not centered on the bumper and sits much higher up (it is much more in your face).
That is why i went with the drilled holes option. Yes I cringed as the drill did its job. But nobody will be able to see the drilled holes anyway as from now on they will covered by the plate.

that's my plan

I think it depends on where you are and who is writing the ticket. CHP, if they notice, will write you a hefty ticket. Local towns may, or may not, have ordinances that require front plates. For example, I got a $25 ticket in Berkeley (from parking enforcement) for no front plate but have never got one in Oakland. The "Fix It" in Berkeley was a measly $10 off the fine and wasn't worth my time to go to a police station and have them sign off on it. Local ordinances are probably related to both direct revenue generation and Red Light Camera enforcement (I don't think there are any of the latter in Oakland but they are very keen on using parking enforcement to generate revenue).

USMC,
Do we have 'fix it' tickets in Texas? I was under the impression we just have straight citations for the offense.
Just curious, cause I already had 1 run in with DPS- got a warning.. most cops don't even bother with me, but......

I do like the vinyl plate option. Might try that with a Euro look plate. Cheers.

Look at the Seine Systems plate mount. Yes you do need to drill two small holes. The location of the holes is on the top edge of the center grille opening. The design provides a lot of vertical adjustment so you can get the plate to the location you like best. If you want to pop it off, very few people will ever know you had a plate mounted.

Great idea. I wonder what you could use to adhere it to a clear bra but have it also be removable without tearing/disturbing the bra...
