Did the forum search and came up empty. Can someone recommend a good independent shop for my 997? I am looking at RAC Performance, anyone have experience there? Many thanks in advance...

RAC has good reputation especially for modifications. I have not used them. I have used Autoscope (denton drive location). They know porsche and have state of the art facility though not cheap. For older cars, (ie aircooled) best bet is nine eleven enterprises.
There are several Dallas people on this forum and I will be interested myself in the list.

I second RAC. I used them for one service, but they were great. They are located near the Addison airport. Heard a lot of good things about Mayo (Euless), but have not used them. Cheers.

I use RAC as well even though I am air-cooled. They do a lot of work on 997's.

Thank for the responses gents. I dropped off at RAC today, will let you know how it pgoes. Initial impressions are good, they all seem to be gear heads. Lots of sportbikes around.

I was there today also - I drive from Austin to let them work on my car.
