Snow tire/wheel size advice
I ;m thinking of getting dedicated snow tires and wheels form my 09 Targa 4. Its been recomended to me to use 18x 8 ET54 for the front and 18 x 10 ET 40 for the fronts. Is the a acceptable size? im currently using Turbo wheels 19x 8 ET57 and 19x11 ET 51. BTW i also have PCCB, not sure if that makes a difference.
Porsche recomends: Snow tires front 235/40 R 18 91V M+S 8 J x 18 H2 57 mm 58.6 in./1488 mm
rear 295/35 R 18 99V M+S** 11 J x 18 H2 51 mm 60.9 in./1548 mm
or front 235/35 R 19 87V M+S 8 J x 19 H2 57 mm 58.6 in./1488 mm
rear 295/30 R 19 100V XL M+S** 11 J x 19 H2 51 mm 60.9 in./1548 mm
Thanks

That should be fine. Your front wheel will be further out by 3mm so no issue with brakes and your back wheel will be 2mm in a little, again no issues there. You will now have about 24mm more of clearance from your strut housing. You can now use rear tires between 265 and 285 which saves cost and gives more options.

OK
Yes those sizes work. For the wheels, are you using after market or porsche made? The reason being is that not all 18 inch rims can sometimes clear those massive front brakes. If going aftermarket, you might want to ask the installer to check on your car first before committing to buy. I use Victor equipment wheels, but OZ, Porsche sport edition from Tirerack or sets from wheel enhancement are designed to fit perfectly.
Lastly, if you want to increase stability in winter you could widen the rear track with 7 or 10mm spacers, but this is not necessary unless you plan to be in excess of 100kph in the white stuff all the time.
Good luck. I run 235/40 F and 285/35 R Dunlop winter sport 3D. Love em in the ice and snow. but then I live in the snow belt

Yes they are Sport Edition Cup4. I was told thet should clear my PCCB. is there a way to confirm that?
