Nice color and the two tone interior looks great in a black car.
Seems a little high priced.. You may want to get an S model with the sport chrono... However, the sports chrono can be added for around $1200.
and it doesn't need the S or sports chrono to be a fun car....
But it sure is a pretty car....
and your original question was what was a good price.... maybe start at 65K

I paid 79K for my car in 2009 c2s It was priced MSRP at $99,385. a launch car for that year....
Your looking at the color I wanted with a leather interior... Heated seats and Bluetooth.... It's certainly low miles..
I took it in for warranty service last week and had a salesman look it over so when February came around and I'm lurking around for a 991, he would know exactly what I had and I wouldn't have to drag it in through the snow to get an estimate for trade or sale... He came up with a 68K allowance...
He would turn it around for probably 78K I'm guessing...possibly a little more. it's only got 6K miles on it.
Pwr Comfort seats w/Driver Mem.
PDK
Self Dimming Mirrors.
Heated front seats/steering wheel
Bluetooth interface
Sport Chrono package plus
Bose sound
XM radio
Universal audio interface
Maybe this will give you some kind of base line regarding the value on the car you're looking at.
Check every car that's out there for sale and you'll come up with a price you can live with.
Sometimes an individual car is worth a little extra because it's the color and shape you can't live without.
but, there are lots of cars out there...

Clearly, I don't have a crystal ball. However, IMHO given the dealerships are getting aggresive about moving out 2011 997s and once the 991 arrives on the scene, prices will continue to erode over the coming months.

and after you get the Sports mode added you have the peace of mind knowing the car has not been Launched up and down main st . I would bet the 09's are going to see mored PDK problems as these cars start coming off lease and going for resale. i would stay low on the price because there is going to be more bad news coming on 09 PDKs. How would you like to fix this trans out of warranty. that really hurts the resale. i got my 09 c/s PDK cab. for $70,000 because it had no sports chrono but im going to order the Sport mode in the spring.Bose premium bluetoot heated seats Both driver and passenger heated steering no nav and i think i overpaid!

Ok so I went to the dealership and the sales told me they paid too much for this car( claimed to pay $67000 for the car) and ended up giving me $68500 before tax and registration. That was when the listing price on Autotrader was $74,000, today they just lowered the listing price to $69. am I suppose to believe them and just take the deal? or does someone out there think I can get this car for $65?

Piad too much is BS. Adealers most important # is days in inventory. The longer it sits the cheaper it gets. Make a offer and leave, they will call. It may be awhile but as the end of the month comes the more they sell the more they make on EACH car. They need you way more than you need them.

I don't care if they paid a $1M for the car that's their problem, not mine or in this case your problem.
Besides, they didn't over pay for the car anyhow. Car sellling, buying and trading is their business and how they make their living at it. If they overpaid for cars they'd be out of business by now.
If you want to have a rough idea of what the car is worth, run the car's numbers through www.kbb.com or www.nada.com and use the wholesale price. That's even high because generally a dealer will offer below wholesale for a car knowing that if the car doesn't sell he can move the car at a wholesale auction yard for what he paid for the car. IOWs, he loses little to no money.
How much you pay over the price you find depends upon many things. Roughly I would think no more than a few thousand dollars, tops.
It depends upon how hungry the dealer is, how many cars it is selling, and what the overall car market is. It also depends upon how serious you appear to be and how well you can sell the dealer the idea that if he fails to sell you a car when you're there on the lot that you'll walk off the lot to another lot and with another car already in mind and thoroughly researched and buy that car. If not at dealer #2 then at dealer #3.
Impress upon the dealer that you will buy a car and if he lets you walk he's lost a sale.
It takes a hardened salesmanager (the salesman counts for zilch) to resist that, unless you simply are offering too little money.
Sincerely,
Macster.
