PSE on 997.1

PSE on 997.1
Newbie here, Just got a 2007 C2S cab with Chrono Sport pkg. Want to add PSE. If I order it now from dealer will I get the better 997.1 or not as good 997.2 that I've read about? Do I need to have it connected to button on dash or is it OK to have 'on' all the time.

The dealer will ask for the model year of your car. Since it is an '07, you will get the 997.1 mufflers. The 997.2 side mufflers will NOT fit on your car, because Porsche completely reworked the headers, cats, and mufflers on the 997.2 cars.
It is OK to have them "ON" all of the time.
BTW, the 997.2 cars have 3 mufflers.... 2 side mufflers (similar to the 997.1 side mufflers) and 1 center muffler. The center muffler causes the 997.2 cars to be more quiet than the 997.1 cars.
I have already replace the center muffler with the Sharkwerks by-pass pipes. The sound is MUCH better now. Next up, PSE mufflers.
