My 2009 convertible, that is ALWAYS garaged or covered, has two areas now in the top on both sides that are rubbed from the interior mechanics and soon, Im sure, will develop into holes. The dealer said this is normal wear and tear and are not covering it under warranty. WTF? 2 year old car that is taken car of religiously and they aren't covering it? I can't find anyone else having this problem so is it just my car ? Anyone know why this SHOULDNT be covered under warranty?

Not currently until i get home, but its right above and slightly behind the rear window. Looks like there is one of the arms that fold the top right there pressing on the outside of the top to hold it taught, though is currently rubbing through both sides.

My 06 top has several wear marks. Just the way it is. If your fabric is fraying, that would be different. You could always go look at the dealers used cabs and see if the wear pattern matches.

I have that same issue--more pronounced on the left side. I think I get grease on it from the mechanism.

im beginning to think its normal. I use ragg top to try to increase the life.
