Laser Mount experience

If you got hit by lidar: did the jammer work or did the cop read the speed and decide they didn't want to pull you over?
If you drive near the posted limit you will probably get hit all the time.
If you drive 25mph above the posted limit and get hit, and then not pulled over (and not because someone doing 30 over got pulled over instead)... then its a meaningful event. (depending on what the cop saw on the gun read-out)

REALLY - that is amazing! We have a K40 EX2 that we test periodically here, and it is pretty easy to get a lock on it (we actually own 2 police laser guns). I would say they are running the very early lidar guns in your area, or you are VERY lucky.
Don't take my word for it. Do some research at guysoflidar, radarbusters etc etc. If you have had it for 5 years, you don't have the EX2 version - which is a little better than the original.

Getting alerts vs tickets doesn't help much without knowing the situation.

On two occasions, late at night. Northbound 294 doing 75 mph in the left lane did not see the cop (to my left) on the side of the road and pass him as the laser warning is going off. Thought for sure I was going to be stopped. No time to even slow down. Never pulled over. Had been hit with laser before (and since) but these two close calls convinced me that the complaints about the K40 are pure B.S.
Our local sports car clubs are typically installing jammers and worried about getting a lock at 115 - 125 mph. We need jammers that will give you SEVERAL seconds of slow down time before the gun gets a lock (preferably never). I can't tell you how many times I have been shot, then again, then again, then again after I have gone by (to get a lock on my rear plate where I did not install a jammer). By that time, I have come down from 100+ to mid-70s and without the obvious jam on the brakes that they look for. It is funny still to this day (where jammers are not exactly common) to watch an officer try so many times in vain. We have tested most of them, sell two of them, but will endorse 6 of them. So we have a small vested interest, but will happily tell you the ones that we don't sell that work too. This is our testing and ranking in order:
Three units seem to tie for 1st place:
1. Laser Intercepter (we do not sell)
1. Laser Defense Pro (we do sell)
1. LPP (no longer sold in USA)
2. Laser Star (we do not sell)
3. ALG8 (we do not sell)
4. Escort 9500ci (ZR4 Shifter) (we do sell, but do not sole rely on for hard core laser - radar is great!)
would never buy or recommend:

BTW driving a Benz (without detector) got me a ticket for doing "only" 70 mph ( a mere 15 mph over the limit) on 290. That cops will not ticket for less than 90 is yet another B.S. argument. Try it sometime. State police will ticket anything 10 mph over the 55 limit on Illinois roads.

I would NEVER make that argument. I am just saying here in Atlanta, traffic simply flows faster than that (whenever it is not rush hour...lol). In Atlanta, on 285, it is pretty rare to be pulled over for anything less than 85-90. But an officer having a bad day, or making quota, or or can obviously still write a ticket for anything over the posted limit.
funny story...I actually got pulled over in Riverside CA once for driving 60 MPH. The officer said I was a hazard as traffic was traveling at 80+ on I-15. Of course I did not get a ticket, but was told to speed up!!

A friend of mine recently tested the K40 EX2. He is also an engineer. He told me there are numerous design problems with it that can be easily corrected. One issue is that only the head that senses the LIDAR beam will fire. The other head does not act as a slave. This is the only system that doesnt fire the other heads. Additionally the diodes do not have enough output and the lenses should be improved.

Boolala, there are different thresholds before an officer all pull you over for speeding. They depend on the officer himself, type of road, traffic, average traffic speed, weather, time of day, time of the year, time of the month, perforance goals, car being driven, condition of the vehicle being driven, possibility of the car being driven having occupants or driver violating other laws leading to an arrest.
From what I have seen the newest K40 is fair but acceptable to some on radar. Laser, it is unacceptable.

Sure.....and I was pulled over doing 110 in a school zone while texting. I did however get a ticket.
