Default Weak horn

Finally used my horn for the first time after owning my 07 4s for a year. I noticed it has a weak or low output similar to a motorcycle. Is this normal or a known problem with 911s. I tried to search but only found the older gen models with similar problems.

My horn sounded rather anemic as well, when I was into the dealer recently having the car checked over for an extended warranty they indicated one of the horns was dead and replaced it.

I think this was/is a common fix on 997.1s. Happened on my '06.

how can you go almost a year without honking your horn? Mine gets used almost daily. Due to it being a dual horn which harmonizes, the sound carries quite far.

I haven't used the horn in my cars in years. As soon as you use a horn in Vancouver, they know you're from back East.

The low horn on my '07 went out recently, luckily it was one of the last things to get fixed under warranty. The low tone horn is easier to replace than the high tone horn, which they have to take off the front bumper.

Anyone know where the horns are located?

I believe you need to remove the front bumper to access the units.

Same here too - one of the horns on my 07 stopped working and was taken care of under the warranty.

Porsche got a bad batch of horns. They probably were hoping that people wouldn't notice, because to replace them takes several hours of work, taking off the front bumper, etc.

Mine's bad too. I'm going to have it looked at before the warranty is gone in April 2012.
