Anybody gut primary Muffler?
I was curious if anyone has "gutted their primary (rear) muffler, rather than using bypass tubes like the sharkwerks kit.
I have the equipment to do so and was wondering about the sound, drones, or "gotchas"
TIA

My objective is more sound, a little performance would be OK too.
Remove the muffler baffles to get more sound.

I have ABSOLUTELY no expertise here.... nonetheless I feel compelled to offer my 2 cents...
I believe the result would be exactly what you are NOT looking for. De-baffling and leaving a large chamber open with a small inlet and outlet is just asking for resonance and drone issues. Get the bypass pipe from Fabspeed or Sharkwerks and save that can for when you want to get rid of the car.

We did something like that early on and the problem is still the u-bends that almost act like a silencer of sorts. It was too quiet and basically we destroyed my expensive factory muffler in the process Let me know if you want to try ours as that's the most sound you would get from replacing the center one can get. We tried an X design but it ended up being too quiet also for our liking.
