[QUOTE=spourreza;8800321]Ok, I know there are hundreds of topics on this but my question is very specific to my car/color choice.
(the cost is not a factor) QUOTE]
since cost is not a factor and silver tends to hide clear bra applications, i think YES, you shoud do it.

I have one on my Speed Yellow (installed by previous owner) and I can say this----
the front end is in much better shape than many of the used 997's on the local lots that had similar miles. The worst part is the "gunk" that gathers on the seam, but truly you cannot see it - see my hi res photos. It is on the entire front end (bumper, lights etc) and half way up the hood.
There is only one small rock chip in the paint on the hood, several inches from the wipers. I initially had my doubts, but now am a believer.
I agree with previous statements that silver should mask the application well -

I have one and will certainly do again on any high dollar car, ESPECIALLY if the color is very friendly to clear bra - like silver. Some colors, like white, can show the yellowing/browning of the clear bra over time. Heck I've seen new Caymans with the side hips clear bra and it was already yellow/brown in the AZ sun.

It's well worth it in my opinion and if you track/DE it's almost a must have. Not much money to protect a pretty significant investment.

I'm with the majority, glad I have it! Speed Yellow with 8k miles, couple of little nicks on the bra but it did its job. Didn't penetrate thru to the paint.
I did see a clear bra on a black boxster that was very obvious. Could have been inferior quality or poorly applied, That would be my only concern!

Go for it. I think the clear bra is a must have for any new car.
If money is not a factor, get the full front coverage (hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors, lights) and ask the installer to tuck the edges. My installer told me that only Venture Shield has rolls of film that are large enough for the entire 997 front end. I have an '05 Seal Gray C2 and you can barely tell that I have a clear bra. Mine was installed after purchase at 35k miles. I wish the original owner put it on.

Add me to the list of people that would recommend it. Get Full Coverage and you won't have to worry about most road debris. Full coverage also eliminates most of the lines.

I have one on my Meteor Gray C4S. It covers the nose, partial hood, mirrors, behind front tires, edge of door, and inside the door buckets (handles). You can see the lines, but not too bad on this color. I would imagine silver to be the same. Since it already had lines from the factory side protectors, it's really just more of the same. Saved me at least once when sheetrock fell off a truck and hit the front bumper. I just wiped off the white dust with no other damage. Probably paid for itself then. I would say go for it.

What is the going opinion on having just the bumper and headlights on a black '12 covered for around $500? Does this sound like a reasonable price for the high desert? Don't want the line it leaves on the hood for a partial wrap and wife drives the car very little, but want the protection for road trips to Cali.

Mine saved my bacon not long after I had it installed when a piece of cardboard flew in the air on the highway and smashed my hood. I thought it might have dented the car. I got a good scuff out of it but I'm sure it would have done a job on the paint. I would do it for sure.
I did my mirrors, door handles, edges of the doors, and full front plus a third of the hood. $500 in 2008.

No brainer and if installed correctly the untrained eye can never spot it. Find a pro....headlights, blinkers, side markers come out. Took my guy about 2.5 hours just on the bumper. $350 IIRC.

Two years since I had my whole car wrapped, still looks like it looked on day one. Ventureshield was used. Best in the market. Regular upkeep (with periodic car washes and use of sealant)is a must to prevent dirt from seeping into the pores of the film to avoid dullness and yellowing.
