Damaged wheels
Did this last weekend. Hit curb going about 30mph. Rouined both wheels and tires. Wheels are champion motorsport, total cost $3591.00. Looking back I should of got the wheel insurance from Porsche.

Holy cow! Make an insurance claim on your car's policy. The impact knocked out your clear side marker, too. Easier to replace wheels, then to do body work & paint. You may have got out pretty easy. Any suspension damage? You need an alignment, too, as you know.

Side marker is fine. Tried to claim but Gieco does not cover wheels unless body damage. Car pulls slightly to left. I'm surprised I dont have more damage. Steering feels firm but steering wheel slightly of center. Hoping I don't have any damaged suspension parts. I'm a budget pcar owner and this is my daily driver.

Ouch. Many of us have hits curbs. I have 3 wheels now with curb rash to repair. I know park well away from the curbs etc... There was a recent post for a set for wheels and tires for just over 1G recently. An option for you...

Ah... ball peen hammer and some fine sandpaper and finish it up with some Armour All and no one will know...
Seriously, I have toasted two "sides" in my career with Porsche wheels. Bummer fer sure. Hope the other side is either brand new tires, or you were replacing them anyway.
And, wheel and tire insurance at the time of sale is a bargain with these cars! My wife can "ring 'em up" pretty well herself. And, if it's a good dealership often they can manage to find something "wrong" with the other tires and replace them too, but YMMV...

Three Wheelin'
I hit a curb with my BMW and bent a Fikse just as badly as yours. I called Alloy Wheel Repair and they fixed it almost as good as new. They have a guy right here in Little Rock, who operates out of a truck and cycles around to the car dealers. I expect yours is a forged wheel and is likely fixable, too. You need to take the tire off the wheel to give the right access.

It took a day and $100 and I am driving it today. No kidding.

The factory oem wheels tend to be pretty pricey, you may find it cheaper in the end to just get 4 new aftermarket wheels from tirerack or some other wheel place.
Also make sure you take your car into the dealer or a performance shop for the alignment, most alignment places have no idea about aligning the camber into place and only adjust the tie rods to get the toe in.

No Htwo O, His clear side marker looks fine...they are curved like that.
Giffer, have a very very good Porsche shop check out your front suspension as you could have bent or damaged it. The wheel is an easy fix or replacement but you might have done some damage to suspension parts.

The wheels and tires have been replaced. I called many places to see if they could repair and everyone said no. The wheels are mono block forged. Actualy the lightest 19" with a lip you can get. Going to get the insurance now.

I don't understand , how did you hit the curb at 30mph ? was it night time ? or was it a tricky curb ?
I am (happily) surprised that you did not hit your lower bumper considering the damage to the wheel, the curb must have been pretty high.

"Wheel insurance" would not cover that. But your regular auto insurance will. Being forged, they have a tendency to bend. If they were pressure cast, they would have broken.

Of course packages and companies will vary but I have had wheel/tire insurance fix similar incidents twice. Why would you think not?
