Default Pics: My Sand Beige Interior Mods....

Ok, I decided to "freshen up" my sand beige interior. I have a 2009 C2S Porsche Racing Green/Sand Beige launch car.
The changes are very modest, 3 things only...black rugs, new PDK trim, and new PDK shifter....that's it. But it adds a lot, if you're looking to spice up your sand beige interior a bit on a 997.2...
I never liked the cheap tan plastic piece around the shifter....so I decided to go leather, in BLACK, and then get a new aluminum/black gear lever to match...the affect is to make the black PCM center stack and the gear shifter blend as "one unit" --like a wrap-around. (note: this will not work on a 997.1, because the PCM module isn't all black)

The look is simple and looks great, adding a bit of two-tone, but still very Germanic and clean.... the last picture is the best...
(an alternative option would have been to have gotten a black plastic, not leather, gear trim piece, as this might match the black plastic of the PCM better. But I decided that I would probably dislike the cheap plastic black piece as much as I dislike the sand beige one)

(Btw, the leather trim is just as black as the black plastic of the PCM, matches great, although the pic makes it look slightly lighter...)

Hmm, I like the trim on its own, but to be honest it looks odd in all beige interior.

Once you put in black rugs, which several people with Sand Beige interiors have done, it opens the door to two-tone. The 100% "sea of sand" is broken. It doesn't look odd at all after the rugs are in....
(Pic 3 above does not show the dramatic effect that the black rugs have on breaking the all-sand interior...Pic 4 is much better)

I like the change. It blends perfectly well with the center stack.

Hmm, maybe pics dont do it justice then. What's ur exterior color? If anything dark, I'd paint the center console to contrast out even better and blend in better.

I think it looks fine; maybe a few more black leather interior pieces to continue building on the shifter surround.

If I get carried away some day... I'll get a black steering wheel, and then YELLOW dial gauges....
BINGO!!!!--it'll look like a Ferrari knockoff.

(look at some Ferrari interiors--all sand, but black center stack and gear, black steering wheel, and colored dials...lol)

i have a 2 tone black and tan leather interior. Black dash, steering wheel and upper door panels with an aluminum shifter and ebrake. I added black mats as well to further highlight the 2 tone look and love it. I have had an all black and an all tan interior on 2 other Pcars both with black exterior. The 2 tone to me is stunning with a black exterior - but thats just me

I think it works well with the black shift handle. Nice work.

Just my opinion, but it doesn't work for me. Two-tone implies two tones of the same color, i.e. light brown and dark brown. Two different colors is not two-tone.

I was taught to not mix black and brown (at least when getting dressed). Do you wear black shoes with khaki pants?

Only my opinion, if it works for you - go for it.

The contrast make it all the better. The PDK black shifter trim is nice. I think a black steering wheel would look good too.

Looks very good! As I've said before to you...go farther young man! LOL I'd to the center console as well but then again I did have mine custom done. Two tone interior looks good in sand beige I think...and yes it would look much better on a black car with sand beige but works well on Racing Green too. However I do think that Porsche should have used a much darker color on the interior leather in this launch vehicle as the Sand Beige looks nice but is horrible for keeping clean and showing wear (i.e. jean fade/color fade) it seems at least in my 18+ months with my vehicle.

Anyway here's my transition to two tone for those interested which the OP based his loosely on. Am working on dash and wheel upgrade to black also. Awaiting pricing. Maybe I should just buy a black/black 991 and get it over with! LOL
