Default Pics of Atlas Gray Metallic? Is it Blue? Gray?

Hi, I have been checking out this 997 cabrio on ebay. The owner listed the colors in the auction choices as "Blue" & "Tan", but then he states that the color is Atlas Gray Metallic.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Is it me, or does this 997 look blue in some of these pics?

If your car is Atlas Gray Metallic, does it look blue in certain light? can you post up a pic and help a brother out?

thanks!

I have atlas and I would say 80% of the time it looks like a deep navy blue to me. in fact if a non Porsche person asked, I would just tell them I have a dark blue car.

I've seen Atlas Grey in person and it is one of the most beautiful current Porsche colors available. It is a true bimetallic which will colorshift depending on lighting. In Sunlight or brighter light the blue really stands out against the grey flecks of paint. When cloudy it looks almost dark grey/navy in color.

I wish the Spyder was available in this color, I would have ordered it in this color!

I have an Atlas car. It's stunning and looks different depending upon the light.

Chris's pictures don't do this color justice, it looks much better in person. I've found the same to be true for Basalt Black, the camera can't capture the beauty of the color.

I might have some other pics at home. Atlas is rare and it's beautiful.
How it looks depends on the light.

Thanks for the quick replies. I was thinking the same thing - it looks beautiful in the pics, but I would need to go see it in person to decide. Seems like the best of both worlds to me because I really want a blue car again (my first P-car was dark blue/tan WAY back in '93), but it's hard to find one since blue has been kind of out of favor for the past 10 years or so.

Keep the pics coming!

I regret not ordering it with a Metropol Blue interior.

Atlas looks really good.

And it's rare.

Have owned two Atlas Grey 911's. Some days it looks like a dark blue. It was in or service last week and the service writer (A Porsche/Audi/Mazda dealership so she doesn't see many Porsches at all) called it charcoal grey. A couple of evenings ago my wife and I were out in it and agreed that walking up to the car in the evening light it looked very black. A strange and wonderful color and we love it.

Great color. Looks like a very deep, grayish blue.

its got more charater than black , but its deffinately a dark blue . In dim light it would be called black.
If you like blue shades its good.
