It's probably a wrap, I highly doubt if it's paint, as it's much more expensive and you can't 'undo' without repainting.

I'm guessing its a GR C4S with a wrap ...

Custom Paint Job! and I HATE Matte colours... they look like CRAP when not 100% clean and generally are just a fad!

I doubt they put the money into a full on matte paint job and even those have to be done at a very high end place. I would it's just a wrap. Of course a good car wrap will still set you back about 3K.

Did I read somewhere that BMW has a factory matte black for their M cars? I also think I read that any body work has to be carried out by BMW themselves or it voids any warranty regarding the paint (??)

BMW does have one called frozen grey from the factory. Not sure about black though.

Yes, thanks! It was Frozen Gray that I was alluding to. I think BMW has some pretty strict guidelines on how that color is cared for. I can't remember the cost, but it was pretty steep!

They apparently have a Matte Black as well. The cost is apparently around 3300 euros which comes out to about 4500 bucks. And the paint does need super special care.

The matte finish prohibit the use of wax or polish products and rubbing too hard against the metal could damage the matte finish.

Another reason i would believe this to be a wrap is since the car is pretty new and at a dealer they probably are hoping they can find someone that is an enthusiast and wants something different. They pay about 3K or even less based on their cost to get a wrap and mark up the car a lot. Worse case scenario if they can't sell it they can rip the wrap off and not be out that much.

Woud be a lot harder for them if the car was actually painted a color that was not factory done and it sat on the shelf for a long time.

So called the dealer
This was the Porsche Canada "Car Show" Porsche - Porsche called PFAFF Sport Tuning to custom the car with Porsche approved tuning.. including defusiers at rear and front Splitter.. and a TUBI exhaust..along with many other mods.. no chip.. all stock.. lowered by 20mm.. springs
The Colour is indeed Custom Matte Finish ..paint is a $8800 job.. original black under that they can strip and redo clear coat.. not sure how but they must know.. this C4S (typo on GT3 specs) gets official Porsche Warranty as it was approved by P-North America

Figured Id provide an update
interesting.. Im going to go see it

Agreed. Cheaper to wrap it flat than re-paint it.
