Default LEGOŽ Porsche 997

Way before I loved Porsches I loved LEGOŽ. Some guy with clearly too much time on his hands just made my brain explode...

The cab roof and esp. the PDK gearbox........OMG! I wonder how much time he spent designing and building this thing? However, given the greatly foreshortened wheelbase I fear that the 911 pendulum effect and other essential handling qualities will be lost, so I'm keeping my 997.2

Wow.

Though those pieces sure don't look like the LEGO I had as a kid. All we got were bricks, and you had to pretend that the blocky bunch of bricks you made was an airplane or whatever.

That is just insane - the engine and transmission/clutch all work? And at that scale? WOW.

I don't even understand how that's possible. Where would you start?

If you actually go to YouTube to watch this you will find that apparently this guy has built a number of similar cars, including a Bugatti Veyron with a working 7 speed sequential transmission.

This would be worthy of a special display in the Porsche Museum as it's every bit of technical engineering and Porsche as Porsche is to the world. This thing is insane!!

Incredible... took me back to my Lego days. It simply was/is THE BEST toy ever invented with incredible possibilities of teaching creativity, engineering, and mechanics... too bad it's not as popular for new gen. of kids!
