Default 70,000 Mile Service

I picked up an '07 C2 that's in pristine condition. The only issue is it's due for service. Anyone know what's involved at this mileage?

Oil change is really all, unless something else is needed. Being new to you, I would have them look over the brakes and consider replacing the fluid, pads and rotors only if needed. Never a bad idea to check the coolant and expansion tank. Battery may be getting weak so consider replacement before winter because the cold is when you'll stress it. And a once-over on the suspension would be good to be sure you're still all tight. Maybe you had much of this looked at in a PPI.

My '07 997S has just over 75k miles. I change the oil and filters about every 5k miles and keep an eye on all of the above. Replaced battery with the WalMart one (many threads on this here) earlier this year.

Thank you very much. I want to replace the springs and lower the car and upgrade to 19". I used to own a 996 and just departed from a highly modified E46 M3 supercharged. Nothing crazy for this car but wheels and s little gap delete is in order. On my 996 I had H&R springs and I was good with that.

I'll have plenty of threads to read up on here. Thanks!

Nice to see these 07s with good mileage on them. Mine now has 15k but is my daily driver, so will be accumulating them much quicker than the previous owner ... 11,000 miles in almost four years? Really?

The dealer should have a record of the car's service history (as long as maintenance was performed in any authorized dealer). I would do this:

Oil/filter change
Replace air filter
Replace cabin filter
Replace spark plugs/check coils
Flush brakes (if not flushed last year)
Check brake pads/rotors
Check serpentine belt/belt pulleys
Check coolant leaks
Check oil leaks
Check suspension members, including joints
Check tires
Check engine faults

Thank you all very much for the info. I'm going to find am independent on San Antonio where I now live because I want some mods on the car, something I know some dealers don't like to do

Consider your mods carefully... don't ruin or weaken a great design.

Yes, suspension, wheels, bumpers, exhaust are pretty much on the immediate. Nothing crazy but looking forward to learning more about the car and what's available on terms of mods.

Allow me... if you are learning about the car... why change it, before you learn it? For most people the driver is the element which requires more upgrading.

I understand. Not new to Porsche as I owned a highly modified SC and a 996, I then swapped to an M3 which I modified. Not doing the same to the 997 but will do a few things to the car. The gap delete is first I with wheels.

I have a set of 19 lobster forks silver factory wheels for sale. Used so not perfect or pristine, but pretty fine. $800 plus shipping from 40509. Also have both black and colored center caps available for a wee bit more.

Thanks for the offer. I actually like the design of those wheels but I'll likely go with the Y-spoke.
