Default help: Is this part of my console correctly installed??

My "new-to-me" 2006 is great, except for this rear storage tray that seems to be misfit. The console was replaced with a bumperplugs painted console at some point and may have not been reinstalled correctly. How would I re-install and flush it to the console? I looked around and found some posts linking to the B&M short shift install .pdf, but it starts at the front of the console and seem like more than is needed to fix this.

i tried gently pushing and pulling, but don't want to break it. The way it is fastened doesn't seem obvious to me.

Not sitting right. The lower portion has 2male posts that fit into 2 tabs with holes in them. Top of piece gets screwed into center console. Looks like the tabs may be broken. Only way to know and correct is to remove center console. Go to www.macarbon.com and look up Porsche 997 center console. They have a good video on center console removal.

Lower tabs are broken. You need to remove the entire console to fix it.

I followed the MACarbon vid that LC997 posted and on a whim just undid the 4 torx inside the console and i was able to get that piece straightened out and fastened down in just a few minutes. Thanks guys!!
