Default Rim Size

Hi all

I have a 997.2 carrera pdk, I upgraded the rims with the dealer, he installed 8 J x 19 ET57 (fronts) 9,5J x 19 ET46 (rear).

Now I'm looking for new tires, michellin pilor sport cup bridgestone super pole, etc, and I've found my rims are from Cayman, I asked the dealer and he told me that was beause he wanted to keep the original size of rims..

Now I want to know what is the widder tire I can put on my rears/

Thanks a lot for your comments and oppiniones!!

The front wheels are ok but you don't want a 9,5 wheel at the rear of a Carrera !

The narrowest wheels that Porsche offers for your car , are: 10,5 x 18 and 11 x 19.

You need to find a new dealer - he led you down the wrong path on this. A 295 or 305 on a 9.5 wide rim is not good.

Your dealer misled you with a completely inappropriate wheel size for a 911. The style that you are seeking most likely already comes in the Carrera sizes.

You need to return the wheels to the dealer. The rear are wrong size. Period.

As others have said, your dealer literally sold you inappropriate wheels. The C2's narrowest wheel is 10.5" and he sold you 9.5? Most of us are on 11" or 11.5" wheels to run 295 / 305. For street use, anything more than 295 is not necessary.

To get the tire size that will fit, visit the tire manufacturers' web sites and look up the tire specs for those you are interested in. Most list a range of acceptable rim widths for each size. If you go too narrow or too wide for the rim, you're on your own.
