Only you can decide whether the increased risk is worth it. I have a friend who got his Cayman S supercharged by Ruf--and it's been a garage queen more then you would ever expect. Blown one of the superchargers already--and he's not an aggressive driver.

Whatever I get will be my DD for all 4 seasons in Toronto so I cant imagine this is a great choice but I was intrigued by the extra HP for the cost. However, as you point out it comes with certain risks...

is the fact that Ruf has done so few such conversions really a GOOD thing?

it is a 2006 c2 with good potential to shell out for new m96 engine - I would not offer more than $35K top for it.

The AutoCheck does say 4 owners but if you read the narrative sounds like this guy is the original (and I presume) only owner. OP should ask.

Another friend of mine put a S/C on his Carrera 4S. (Not RUF). BIg mistake. Car never ran well. He ultimately paid again to remove it all.

it is a constant reason of debates - some folks get it on and have a blast, other get all sorts of possible issues - oil in the intake, scored cylinders, valving issues... go figure. overall I beleive VF-E SC systems are safe, but, one story is to put it on your own car and you know what you do with it, other story is to buy it from under somebody else - and you would think why this owner wants to get rid of it after he spent so much of those very costly mods as they will mean direct money loss to him after sale...

as much as I like to mod my own car, i am very conservative myself about seeing mods on car i want to buy. if I would want to sell my rig I would return it to bone stock prior to sale to avoid having any of such concerns on buyers side
