Strange green fluid under car

When I moved my car yesterday there was green fluid under both sides of the rear. It seemed to be under the exhaust area. I couldn't see any residue on the car.
The fluid was odorless, very watery and non-oily.
09 4S Cab with 14000 kms.

Anyone have any thoughts on the origin of this?

Coolant leaking from water pump?

stacheman 04-30-2011 11:16 PM

The coolant is pink and there is no odor.

Did you run over a bunch of frogs?

Seriously, you only have a few fluids in a Porsche:

coolant -- pink these days
trans. oil -- looks like oil
engine oil -- looks like oil
power steering fluid -- reddish
a/c fluids -- oily, like oil
a/c condensation -- wet, no color, not greasy or oily
battery acid -- sulfuric acid, do not taste! (Thanks for the correction)
brake fluid -- oily, pungent (avoid getting on paint!!)
windscreen fluid -- usually blue, near front (headlights, windshield and possibly rear with coups and rear wipers)

I thought battery acid was sulfuric acid ( I still wouldn't taste it:)). Greem liquid could be condensation dripping from a copper tube or similar ccoling component.

A friend of mine had the same type of issue with his wife's SLK. It was determined it was moisture that was dripping from the area around the catylic converters.
Make any sense?

Does your car have a rear window washer/wiper? Could be a break in a washer fluid line?

No HTwo O 05-01-2011 08:41 AM

What oil are you using? Isn't Brad Penn green-ish?

stacheman 05-01-2011 08:56 AM

No wiper-cab-and It was watery with no oil component.

Fahrer mentioned that it might be condensation dripping from copper. Is there any copper in those areas?

Edgy01 05-01-2011 11:40 AM

There is no copper back there. Stock, I assume? (Some guys alloy in copper into their gaskets, but that would simply not contribute in quantity.

Could it have been there before you parked over it? Is it drying up on its own?

RollingArt 05-01-2011 11:52 AM

Do you warm your car up in the spot where the fluid shows up?

Could be condensation dripping out from the exhaust at some point. The exhaust gaskets may well be copper, and picking up the green color from that?

I find coolant goes in pink but seems to come out green. My .02. Also Power steering fluid

Non oily ?

Mine did the same and was PDK fluids; transmission was replaced this week under warranty

But you do not mention if your car is manual or PDK...

stacheman 05-02-2011 08:58 AM

My car has PDK and is completely stock under there.
I have used it a few times since finding the mystery fluid with no repeats.
I wish I had taken a picture of it before wiping it up.
Is this a proper rationalization for installing a scissor lift?
If it was fluid from the PDK wouldn't it have been oily with soom sort of odor?
