Default New to forum- best way to sell a porsche...

Hello all-

New to forums- currently 2011 black Panamera v-6 and 2007 red Carrera s 6sd 9000 miles. It is with sadness that I am going to part with the 2007. If I can solicit opinions what is/are the best avenues to market advertise the car privately?

Thanks in advance....

You could pay the $17 and become a Rennlist Member, and list them here is the Memeber To Members Forum and the 997 Forum and the Pano Forum.

Try autotrader for a few weeks and see if it generates any leads.

If you're really motivated, take the vehicles to CarMax and have them appraise your car(s). They will presumably make you an offer on the spot...CarMax used car purchase pricing in my experience is in the ballpark of kbb trade in value (fair condition).

I've always advertised (and searched) on AutoTrader. If you buy an "run till it sells" ad, you can renew it monthly for about a year (if necessary). You can also modify price etc. any time you want. Put lots of good photos, and clearly describe all options. GLWS.

From personal experience, absolutely agree with above - I've sold many cars on Autotrader.

GLWS.

I'll second (or third/fourth/whatever) using Rennlist member ads, I sold my 6-GT3 that way

also if you're a PCA member, you can advertise in their magazine/newsletters (for free, IIRC)

Autotrader also has a Guaranteed purchase price from dealers. Similar to carmax. You put in details and you will get a notification usually within a day of dealers that will buy your car and for what price. Carmax will tend to low ball you sometimes.

If you don't want any hassle...sell it to a dealer and move on. You will get less but the deal will be done.

I would avoid Craigslist...tried that...all you get is scammers. Horrible.

Agree with PCA...you can advertise on the classifieds...but I have to say...I rarely look there for anything...so you may not get much traffic.

Autotrader is the way to go. Sold 3 cars on that site over the last few years. Beware..you will get annoying low ballers, but real buyers with money are out there.
Make sure you have lots of pics/description. It may help to pay for the Carfax report as well..most buyers know you are serious about selling when you have nothing to hide.
Good luck.

I've sold two cars to people who saw an e-bay posting. Very inexpensive way to reach a large audience.

Lo mileage. Guards red. S. Put it up in this forum, add lots of pics, price it to move, and you may be pleasantly surprised. I bought my car here and it has been great.

I recommend Carmax. Sold a 3 year old car there recently and they gave me $3000 more than I expected. The good thing is they guarantee the offer for 7 days. You can walk away and think about it. Absolutely no obligation to sell it to them. Even if you don't, they will provide you with a reference price you can use in future negotiations.

All good advice here.
Listing anywhere on the internet mandates GOOD PICTURES!
If you're not handy with a camera, find a pal who is, and have them take a series of photos of your car from several angles (including interior shots). Great pictures sell cars faster.
Autotrader is an excellent value for its huge reach.
