Do you ever floor it?

After it is warmed up I floor it often. Actually at 2500 - 3500 rpm this will result in only moderate to somewhat fast acceleration. I do occasionally floor it all the way up to close to 7000 rpm. Light throttle at 5000 to 7000 rpm is a lot of activity with little progress. Actually flooring the car releases the wonderful sounds from the engine ( intake and exhaust).

as of gas milage - mine previous year long average was 15.5 or so before i erased it. on a highway at 3K rpm on 6th gear it eats 22-21mpg. if it eats more than that on a highway then it means you may have issues with partially stuck valves.

With appropriate/decent tires for ambient temperature the PSM has little effect in straight-line driving. Getting on it in at moderate rolling speed in 1st will induce a bit of tire spin once the RPM gets up in the range, maybe even a chirp in 2nd gear.
Being more aggressive from a standing start or bringing the clutch into play will simply produce axle "hop" in the absence of PSM. Much better to apply some finesse, these cars have amazing traction but they are not built to be dragsters.
But I do highly recommend turing off the PSM once in a while for fun and profit!

Why yes I do . . . from time to time when I feel the urge.
However - the first time I did it in 1st gear (test drive at stealership) I was embarassed at how quickly and unpreparedly I was into the rev limiter - "happens to everybody" the salesman says.

I've driven my Spyder 170 miles and I already can't count how many times the pedal has hit the floor. Unfortunately it is brief since I need to let up at 4200 RPM but I'm already counting the miles until I can let it loose and listen to the engine sing at full wail!
Put the pedal down and keep it down! Make sure you have plenty of space when you do it!
Please report back after the procedure above.
