hi Sclemmons & Holli82, does your car have the black rubber gasket around the intake on both sides? My X51 with Factory Aero only happens to have it on the right side, not sure if X51 cars without Aero has it on both sides?

I took the one on the right off and found the hole to be slightly smaller than the hole on the left side.

If your car also has it on the left side, can you help on getting the part number off it for me. Dealer order me the wrong part once already. thx

Mine is a 996, but I like the X-51 on my car as well.

I checked the PET and I believe the part number is:
997 110 250 00 Sealing Bellows

Tell the parts guy at the dealer that the sealing bellows is listed with the air cleaner.

Your lid is complete. You're not missing any parts.

The plastic piece on the right side matches the intake on the left side that all the aero cars have to meet up with the standard, non x51 intake. Standard aero lids just have a flat area on the right side where the second intake is cut into the lid and the plastic piece clips in to finish out the hole and seal to the air box.

Check the second and third pics of my x51 air box install thread below for some insite.

@Holli82--your car is in good hands. I know the new owner (I understand you met him when he picked it up) and he will take great care of it. We kid him about cleaning his cars more than he drives them but he is already enjoying it.

Yes I met the new owner. He is a good man. Dealing with him was a pleasure. I hope he enjoys the car as much as I did.

Phil
Thanks for the clarification, your are right that the inner lid for a Aero car has the left intake sticking out further towards the airbox (thus not needing hte extra bellow) compare to the inner lid of a none Aero car.
